Proverbs 3.5-6
This is fast becoming my favourite verse in the Bible! It seems to be often that I simply don’t know what to do about various things. Perhaps it comes with being a Pastor!
It so happens that frequently in life, we feel like the way ahead is unclear, or even blocked. Maybe we have tried different solutions, and they have all failed.
Or, maybe we don’t even see clearly enough, or feel brave enough, to take any action at all, and remain stuck, trapped in the same difficulty.
That’s when we need to throw ourselves on God. He knows the whole situation, and he knows what we should do to get out of it.
Sometimes, of course, he doesn’t get us out of problems, but he does help us go through them. Often it’s only in hindsight that we can see what he is, or was, doing.
But, he is the God of the impossible, He can make a way, where does not seem to be any way. Commonly, however, his way is not the way we would have chosen for ourselves.
That’s why we have to stop relying on our own faulty wisdom, and surrender completely to his will.
